Postdoctoral research position available to investigate the origin of neuronal cancers

An INCa-funded postdoctoral position for a collaborative project with the Centre Scientifique de Monaco (CSM) is available in the Röttinger lab at the Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging in Nice (IRCAN).

This call is for a 12 months postdoctoral contrat (funding secured)

Job description: The successful candidate will work in an international and interdisciplinary environment and conduct research to decipher the molecular signals involved in the dysregulation of neuronal precursors that may lead to the development of pediatric cancers. In the context of the present position, the candidate will spearhead the development of the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis as a novel and complementary pediatric research model. This project is part of a transborder collaboration between France (IRCAN) and Monaco (CSM), supported by the National Cancer Institute (INCa - PEDIAHR21-010) that aims at investigating the concept of oncogene in embryonal neuronal tumors using unconventional approaches. She/he will be responsible for the coordination of the research axis of the project in tight interaction with the collaborators from the Centre Scientifique de Monaco (CSM), fellow lab members working on complementary projects and under the direct supervision of the PI. This includes all aspects of tasks associated to the project, e.g. animal care, wet-lab experimentation and data analysis/interpretation. Within the year, she/he is strongly encouraged to submit proposals to national and international funding agencies to secure additional funds and extend the postdoctoral position.
